Kyiv, Ukraine, July 21, 2025 – “Over the last two months, non-stop drone and missile strikes across Ukraine have killed civilians and made the lives of countless individuals and families unbearable. In June there were more than 5400 attacks, but in July an increase in intensity is already being observed, including up to 750 simultaneous attacks on the night of July 9. Apartment buildings, hospitals, schools and kindergartens have been destroyed, public buses and trains have been hit. To stay safe, people are spending entire nights in underground shelters, terrified. One woman in our psychosocial support program in Dnipro told us that her 9-year-old daughter now asks her almost daily: ‘Mom, will we have time to hide?’”
“CARE calls for adherence to International Humanitarian Law to protect civilians and ensure uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian aid. My immense gratitude goes out to my CARE colleagues and our local partners are working nonstop to help communities to survive, recover and rebuild.”
