Michael Adams, Country Director of CARE Lebanon, describes the historic scale of the displacement that is occurring.

“Faced with evacuation orders on an unprecedented scale, more than one million people were forcibly displaced in Lebanon in just two weeks. This marks one of the most sudden and large-scale waves of displacement in the country’s history. By comparison, at the height of the previous war in Lebanon, 760,000 people were forcibly displaced over three months between September and November 2024.”
