Michael Adams, Country Director of CARE Lebanon, describes the scale of the crisis and need for immediate action.

“In barely 15 days, one million people have been forced to flee their homes in Lebanon. What we feared is now unfolding before our eyes. The need for support — and for respect for international humanitarian law — is urgent and immediate.

We are deeply alarmed for these women, these children, and these men. The humanitarian response is struggling to keep pace with the scale of the crisis. There are not enough resources, not enough essential supplies, and not enough funding to meet the immense needs we are seeing. How do we protect them? How do we uphold their dignity and ensure they have food, clean water, and access to medical care? These are not rhetorical questions. They demand urgent answers — and urgent action. In this conflict, the disregard for civilian life is unbearable.”
