Our Leadership Partners

Empowering women in coffee, cocoa, and tea growing communities

Since 1992, CARE and The Starbucks Foundation have been partners in development and disaster relief. Together, we work to strengthen coffee-, cocoa-, and tea-growing communities worldwide. Through a shared commitment to creating resilient futures, advancing economic opportunities for women, and responding to humanitarian needs, we have created lasting results for farmers and their families.

Today, The Starbucks Foundation is driving change with a bold goal: to positively impact one million women and girls in coffee, tea, and cocoa communities by 2030.  CARE is proud to help further this goal through women’s leadership, economic opportunities, and long-term livelihoods. Our partnership works in:

  • Côte d’Ivoire: to advance women’s empowerment in cocoa communities
  • Vietnam: to build resilient livelihoods for women coffee producers in Son La Province
  • Uganda: to expand Farmer Field and Business Schools for coffee-growing communities
  • Indonesia: to strengthen economic opportunities for women in tea-growing regions

Together, we are building a stronger future with more opportunities for women and their communities.
