Ask The Expert! What do you want to know about CARE's work with men and boys?

5/29/14

You know about CARE’s work to empower women and girls but what about men and boys? CARE's Gender-Director, Theresa Hwang, will answer all of your questions about CARE’s work to engage men and boys as vital partners in empowering women & girls.

Poverty is both a cause and effect of gender inequalities. In many places, women are simply considered inferior, and treated as property rather than people.

CARE’s community –based efforts to improve education, health and economic opportunities for girls and women don’t just benefit women. They also benefit the men and boys around them – their husbands, sons, brothers and fathers.  The good news?  Men and boys in the communities where we work increasingly understand this and are key partners in CARE programs.

Learn more about this issue and CARE’s work to engage men and boys. Then, submit your questions in the comments below for Theresa by noon ET on Wednesday, June 4th  and she'll select a few to answer personally in a special video interview.
