Procter & Gamble, maker of brands like Always, Olay, Pantene, and Secret, is one of CARE’s longest-standing partners. Together, CARE and P&G work to foster educational and economic opportunities for women and girls as well as improve access to clean drinking water and proper hygiene.
The P&G Children’s Safe Drinking Water Program
CARE has been a foundational partner of the P&G Children’s Safe Drinking Water (CSDW) Program since 2004. Together, we have supported improved health and livelihoods in vulnerable communities by providing access to clean water during floods, droughts, and other natural disasters and educating communities about the importance of proper sanitation and hygiene.
In many communities around the world, the burden of collecting water often falls on women and girls, causing them to miss school or work. By reducing waterborne illnesses and time spent on water collection, the P&G CSDW Program helps keep young women and girls healthy and in school, supporting their education and future.
Through our partnership, the P&G CSDW Program has delivered 25 billion liters of clean water to children and families around the world.
Opportunities for Women and Girls
CARE has partnered with P&G for decades to help expand access to education and economic opportunity for women and girls globally. For example, in Vietnam, P&G supports our proven Village Savings and Loan model, helping women strengthen financial resilience and community leadership.
