New Budget Paints a Bleak Picture for International Poverty Fighting

The President released his FY2015 budget this week, outlining his administration’s priorities for Congress. The picture for international poverty-fighting accounts is bleak. Funding for programs that address such things as maternal and child health or nutrition are low. And while there are some winners -- including important reforms to food aid and funding to provide women and men access to family planning services – overall funding for programs that help people and communities lift themselves from poverty is low.
