CARE Tanzania has lessened tension between the community and the tourist attracted Jozani-Chwaka Bay National Park by allowing farmers to be shareholders in the Jozani conservation project. Also, CARE plans to implement transactions of carbon credits to respond to increasing deforestation. “Revenue can come from sustainably harvested forest resources as well.
