NPR’s Marketplace Morning Report interviewed Sheba Crocker, about CARE’s 2018 report “Suffering in Silence.” The lack of media attention to some of the world’s humanitarian crises affects how aid and funding is directed to these crises. The ongoing crisis in the Democratic Republic of Congo, for example, where 12.8 million people need humanitarian assistance, is less than two percent funded.
