The Atlantic: The Legacy of Live Aid, 30 Years Later

Elizabeth McLaughlin, a country director for CARE, credits Live Aid for influencing her to leave her former career as a stockbroker.  “Whatever came out of Live Aid—millions of pounds and dollars, that’s great. But what really happened at the concert is that a new generation was born, a generation meant to be aware of what’s going on around us.” McLaughlin tells The Atlantic.
