| The SUSTAIN program aims at increasing financial accessibility to 100,000 rural people across Uganda by December 2007 through streamlining and promoting a consolidated model of Village Savings and Loans Associations with proven best practices. Improved accessibility to savings, credit and insurance services will reduce the vulnerability of the poor people through increased household assets, increased esteem and social capital especially for women and increased productivity of labour. CARE works with 23 locally based organisations to implement the program with specific focus on technical capacity building of these organisations through training, subgranting and support supervision. | |
