MANILA (September 12, 2018) - Typhoon Mangkhut (locally known as Ompong), the strongest typhoon to hit the Philippines this year, continues to intensify. The Hawaii-based Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC) has classified Mangkhut into a super typhoon.

CARE launches emergency response as Philippines experiences strongest storm in three years

October 21, 2016 – CARE’s emergency response teams have begun assessing the damage caused by super Typhoon Haima which tore through the Philippines earlier this week. About 90,000 people have been evacuated from their homes, and to date there are seven confirmed casualties.
