Early Childhood Development

Early childhood (from birth to 6 years old) is the most important stage of a child’s life. It is at this stage that we lay down the foundation for their future physical, cognitive and socio- emotional health. If a child does not receive the correct nutrition, health care, love and stimulation at this stage they will be unable to grow to their full potential. They will be unable to “catch up”. This publication tells the story of an early child development programme developed by CARE in some of the most remote rural villages in Mozambique. (8 pages)
