Join CARE Action Network advocates for ‘CAREing for the Holidays’

There’s no better way to honor this season of giving than giving your passion, energy, and time to fight global poverty. In fact, the global need for foreign assistance is so urgent, it’s hard to imagine anything better that represents the holiday spirit.

U.S. foreign assistance accounts for roughly one percent of the entire federal budget. It’s a tiny investment that benefits every citizen on earth. Both the Trump Administration and some in Congress have proposed steep cuts to foreign assistance in the FY18 budget, which would cripple U.S. humanitarian and development work, create massive job losses and more. Cuts would mean that lives will be lost and global conflicts will intensify, along with threats to our national security, economic stability and global health.

Join CARE Action Network West Virginia for a holiday celebration and learn about all that CARE is doing to fight poverty and empower women and girls around the world. We’ll be talking about our work to organize here in West Virginia and we’ll sign postcards to our Members of Congress urging them to protect the foreign assistance budget.

Come for holiday cheer, meaningful action, and connections with advocates in your community. We hope you can join us! Can’t join but interested in being involved? Email us at or

This event is free and open to the public. Please share with your networks!
