The one thing that connects all people around the world – regardless of race, creed, color, or nationality — is our heartbeat. At the 2023 Impact Awards, we want to celebrate this drumbeat of life, creating excitement, shared experiences, and an unforgettable night for all our guests.
There are still a record-high 100 million refugees around the world, and, as you read about them here, put your hand to your chest and see how your own heartbeat changes as you think about their plight.
Renewed fighting in Sudan has caused one in three people to require humanitarian assistance. Conflicts in Ukraine, Syria, and Yemen not only have a years-long catastrophic effect on those who live there, but also put a tremendous strain on neighboring countries welcoming those seeking refuge.
At CARE, through all the changes and crises we face as a global community, we continue to have hope. Women and men continue to seek a better life, while 12,000 CARE staff members often work through their own struggles and personal loss, like our teams in Turkey and Syria who lost colleagues and loved ones in the early hours of February 6, but still managed to take action to help others.
The beat changes, but CARE is constant.
