Cornell Chronicle mentioned CARE’s partnership with the Atkinson Center for a Sustainable Future to support a scientific study that uses biochar as a fertilizer to absorb nitrogen from the air pollutant ammonia. Biochar allows for the maximum use of nitrogen for agricultural practices while decreasing the contribution to air and water pollution. The new practice can decrease greenhouse gases which is a major factor that effects climate change. Read the story here. Also the study was featured in New York Ag Connection here and USAgNet.com here.
