CARE
and Mali
CARE has worked in Mali since 1975 providing drought and famine
relief during the 1980s as well as food-for-work, health education,
sustainable agriculture family planning, and child health programming.
Today CARE Mali's portfolio includes agricultural development,
agroforestry, community health, water and sanitation, girl's and
basic education, household livelihood security and emergency relief.
CARE Mali is currently
promoting six principles for program initiatives:
- Local capacity building
- Impact on women's
lives
- Non-formal education
- Participatory planning
- Partnership
- Sectoral integration
