VP for Advocacy for CARE USA and Managing Director of CAN
David Ray serves as VP for Policy & Advocacy for CARE USA and Managing Director of CARE Action Now. He has 25 years of advocacy, constituency building and campaigning experience. Before returning to CARE in January 2012 he served as Chief Strategy and Public Policy Officer for Points of Light. In his prior 19 years with CARE, David served as Director of Global Advocacy, leading a team of regional advocacy advisors around the world; Senior Assistant to the President for CARE International, working with the CI Secretariat to develop the international confederation and new members organizations in countries such as Thailand, Brazil and Peru; Principal Executive for Marketing and Communications at CARE Australia, and Vice President of the CARE Foundation. He also played a leadership role in creating and managing the ONE Campaign and served as the Chair of its Management Committee.
David earned a Masters Certificate in International Development from the University of Pennsylvania, a Master of Arts in Religion from Western Kentucky University and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Eastern University.
