The Tipping Point's core aim is to learn about strategies to influence change-makers and root causes of child marriage. We are working in Nepal and Bangladesh, that each have more than a decade’s experience of implementing projects to address child marriage and other key social cultural practices that perpetuate women’s inequality with men.
Through Tipping Point, CARE seeks to innovate and document strategies that have the potential to:
- Address the economic links between dowry and early marriage;
- De-link norms of sexual “purity” and family honor;
- Build a supportive environment through multiple and diverse partnerships; and
- Directly engage men and boys as advocates for change.
